AM Ten Miler
Nice run to jump start the weekend. Aside from some minor tightness in my hamstrings, the legs had some life in them after yesterday’s little workout. Ran the first half with Katie and then rolled out solo for forty-five minutes. Finished up with 6 x 20sec strides, which felt OK, but far from great.

4mi Fartlek (1min on / 1min off)
Didn’t feel like running quarters at the track, so I rolled over to the park and hammered out 4mi of one minute hard (very hard), one minute recovery. I wanted the effort on the hard minutes to be 3km/5km so that the effort was similar to what I would have done at the track. By aiming to finish 4mi as quickly as possible without sacrificing the hard efforts, I managed to keep the pace respectable on the recovery minutes, and finished under 23min (although I would like to be close to 22min). Good early season workout.

I just joined the Brooks Run Happy Group at Sweat365!
I’m a man from Brooklyn NY USA, born in 1982.
My goals are: 2:2X marathon, sub-70min Half Marathon, average over 90mi a week for an entire year.
My other favorite activities include: Reading, Running, Hiking, Napping, Consuming Unhealthy Amounts of Coffee.
I do not enjoy long walks on the beach. Short ones, however, are perfectly fine.

PM Shakeout: Tuesday edition
Carried a 30lb bag of laundry down the block (winter running clothes! Arrrggghhh!) before rolling out for a 30min out-and-back. Legs felt heavy, but the pace was quite reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise. In spite of the Thanksgiving break, I feel far from well-rested.

Prospect Park Hill Repeats
Warmed up for ~2.5mi and felt pretty frisky. Workout tonight was as follows: Two sets of (2 x 400m, 800m) with full recovery on the East Side Hill in Prospect Park.
Wasn’t blazing fast, but pushed it and made it out alive, which is totally fine for right now. Hope that I can manage three or four miles worth of quality on this sucker before the end of 2008.
